    exterior detail order question

I am in the process of clay baring my car with mothers California gold clay bar kit. It is really turning out great very smooth! I have about 4 other products I would like to use next but i'm not sure of the correct order they should be used. The products are NU Finish Scratch Doctor, NU Finish The Once A Year Car Polish, Zymol cleaner wax, And Meguiars Ultimate paste wax.

I am figuring after clay baring, using the Nu scratch doctor, Zymol cleaner wax, NU Finish Once A Year Polish, Than finishing with the Miguiars Paste wax?

correct order, but I have never been crazy about hand applied polishes/compounds. Cleaner waxes have a fair amount of polish in them, and I am not sure how much compound is in that scratch doctor stuff, never used it. If your paint is single stage I would recommend just using one type of polish.

thanks for the response! I finished claying the car and just tried the NU Finish Scratch doctor on the trunk and hood and to my surprise it worked well on the light surface scratches and swirls! Very noticeable difference I cant wait to get the whole car done.

right order, but not necessarily the products i'd choose. Kinda depends on the condition too of course.

Just as an aside, this is what just a little bit of hand polishing with a fine polish can do to faded out DSM.

Be careful, clear coat can be very very thin on these old cars. Focus on removing oxidation(which will take off the least clear) then go back to work on your trouble spots with something a bit heavier.
I don't always wreck cars, but when I do I wreck them into trees.
