    Fiberglass trunk mounting

I bought a fg trunk lid that bolts up to the OEM arms. But it doesn't sit right above the plate, it doesn't have anything to "sit on" and just rests on the bend corners. So I'm wondering if you guys know of a way to do this.
I got outside rubber latch things with the hood but not going to use those.
I'm trying to keep the car looking as much OEM as possible.

None of the FG ones fit that well. They're for weight reduction.

        Pics 'morrow.
I know it wont ever be 100% like the metal lid but pretty much all that has to be done is to fab some kind of arms and I would like to use magnets to keep it shut.

I want to make my own FG trunk lid eventually. KenC is right, a lot of the composite body parts (hood, trunk lid, etc) don't fit correctly straight out of the factory, modifications are needed usually.

I don't see how businesses sell a product that doesn't fit right, it makes no sense to me.

The size and shape is ok. Its the missing inner reinforcements and latch that make it sit wrong. I understand that a full blown track car wouldn't need it to be perfect, but I want it to look OEM and be able to still use the trunk.

I'm curious to see what approach you eventually take to mount it. Is security a concern at all?

Not really, I don't usually have anything valuable in the trunk.
But imagine this. I'll have a magnetic way of keeping it closed and some dumbass might actually try to pry the trunk pop and keep pressing it to pop it open :D

Why do you want the FG lid in the first place? Why not just go back to a proper fitting, better looking and functional stock lid?

Could you keep the bullshit in the offtopic lounge? I'm looking for recommendations, not smart ass remarks.
