Given the age and low cash value/near-disposable status of the E30 body shell, it seems like plenty of guys would have tried to delete the side moldings and fill in the gaps with resin, lead, JB-weld, spackling putty or whatever. Are there more no-molding cars out there than I think? If not, why not?

I did this on my SpecE30. The results were as good as my body finishing skills (non-existent). I like the smooth look, but it was not worth it in my situation. I wish I had left it alone, but I was painting both sides anyway. I got hit at nationals and cracked the bondo. It will stay like that until it needs more serious repair.-Anthony Magagnoli
