Hey guys, I've been collecting parts for months now to do some serious work on my hennarot DB e30 that was neglected body wise by the previous owner.
The paint on my car is fucked, absolutely no shine remains. My front left fender is black, driverside door is hideously caved, trunk lid is rusting, driverside taillight surround is rusting, front valence is fucked from curbs, hood has taken a million rocks to the front edge.
I've managed to amass a decent collection of bits but its a real mismatch selection of colours
Schwarz 87is air dam
Zinno doors (both)
AW trunk lid w/is spoiler
Zinno Racing Dynamics rear apron
Schawrz fender (driverside)
Zinno hood
I have access to a paint booth big enough for all the individual pieces but not for the shell itself, because of this I'm having a detailer friend do his best with the main body to get as much colour andshine back as I can. After all is said and done, how do I get paint mixed up that will somewhat closely match the "restored" paint that's on the car? How do I go about preparing, the pieces in a way that all of the bits will be the same colour? I'm sure that the Henna is not going to fall on the AW trunk lid in the same way it falls on the Schwartz fender.
I intend to have the doors, hood, and trunk painted fully, inside and out. Obviously I will be removing all internals and badges to do it right.
I do not have much experience with doing paint and bodywork, but I'm hoping to do all the work myself. I am not in a rush and can use the winter to prepare each piece if need be.
PS: if the weather holds I will post pictures of the car tomorrow.
