            prep

prep for paint: well if you dont want to spend too much money you can buy some paint strpper after a good 10-15min it should come right off any deep scratches simply cleaned/polish them to match the surrounding surface and off to paint:)

Typical r3v responses....I do sand paper and Krylon/dupli-color for any 'run of the mill' wheels. Media blasting for anything worth holding onto.

if theyre already painted make sure you strip all the old paint off.

I would just hand sand and use around 3 coats of duiplicolor + 1 or 2 of clear... They're only bottle caps they wont suck as much to hand sand. Weaves are another story ask me how I know.

How well would a standard can of metal krylon/rustoleum hold up on wheels (stock/fake weaves)? Do you need real wheel paint?

i painted my bottle caps with krylon and it held up well. now im stripping it off to paint them a different color :D i tried just sanding them but for some reason the paint reacted weird with the old paint and it shriveled up

So if i sand my weaves on stock (i'm 90% sure) paint, and krylon/rustoleum them, will they still look the same in 5000 miles?

it should hold up, maybe put a coat or 2 of clear for extra protection

How many cans do you use? I'll probably be doing this sometime this week or next.
