    About how much $$$

I'm wondering how much it would be to have my car painted? I have never looked into having anything painted, so I have no idea how much. Plus I am not sure if I just want to have it painted the same color or a matte red?

    This is how it looks

Can anyone help give me an idea?

    Thanks

well from that pic i see lots of prep.
is there rust? that would need to be fixed.

ill4noreason paid over 1g just for someone to spray the car with paint HE HIMSELF BOUGHT seperately. not too mention he got a killer deal on the prep work another guy helped him with. i think he ended up around 1500-ish, but even then his paint job isn't 100%, looked like the car got water on the paint and left rings...anyway...

expect to pay 1500-2000 for a GOOD paint job. if you want matte finish(looks cheap to me) then more like 800-1200

If you want it to look like this expect more like 3-4k

I don't always wreck cars, but when I do I wreck them into trees.

What is your budget/what are you willing to spend and what is your goal? Body work prices are typically disparate, however generally relative to a specific job.

When you ask around, you want to know:

What type of prep work is included in the price?
What is being painted off of the car? Removing hood? Removing trunk lid?
Windsheild or rear glass being removed?
Is under the hood getting painted/door jambs?
What type of paint single or two stage? (imo make sure it is two stage)
        How many coats of primer/paint/clear?
Will it be wet sanded? (it better be)
What type of grit for wet sanding (500? 1000? 2000?) (500 is typically fine - you just have to buff a little more)
        Will it be buffed?
Will it be foamed? (comes after buffing)

What are you referring to on foaming? i'm not familiar with that.

aka Polishing. Its a lighter compound than buffing compound as it doesn't cut into the paint as much rather fills in impurities. Then you would wax to fill in those impurities and give the paint more depth.
