    Painting Aluminum Bumpers

What is the best paint and/or method to painting the aluminum diving boards on my car? I'm thinking of going all black but I know regular paints usually don't stick to aluminum very well because it's a pourous metal. Is there a special primer out there for aluminum I could use? Anyone out there ever attempt this b4?

I was going to use SEM self etching primer, made just for adhering to metals.

      Aluminum is non-porous. :)

But anyway, self-etching primer will do. There are numerous manufactures that sell it. I would also scuff up the bumpers before you paint/primer with some 150 grit sand paper. This will allow the paint/primer to bond better.

Should be able to. If not, find an auto paint supply store. you are in a decent size city, so there should be a few around. The one by me is great - they have everything and the manager is very knowledgable.
