anyone have any suggestions? I've got about a grand to spend on paint and body work...just a tiny dot of rust that needs to be repaired...i'm looking or as close to factory quality as i can afford.
Try Diamond in Smyrna. They quoted me about $800 for rust repair, ding removal, and repainting plus blacking out faded trim. Haven't done it yet but they did some repair work to my Expedition last spring and did a pretty good job for the price. Not sure it would be modern day 'factory quality' but for my 1984 it's probably an upgrade.
There's a guy at Wolf Muffler and Autoworks on Verteran's named William (I think) who had a body shop, but now is doing paint on the side... He claims he can do a respray in OEM color for around a grand. My Eta is there in the shop now, I had them chop my Cat and fit straight pipe a while back, now they're doing my timing belt, thermo, water pump. You should stop in on monday, I'd love to meet a local e30 fan. If they do decent work on my car, I'm gonna recommend them for bimmer people in Columbus, the dealership is a bunch of jackasses and sports and imports are just too expensive. They made no issue of me bringing my own parts (tbelt kit and stuff from BavAuto). Other than that, the BMW dealership recommended columbus body works, which is north of wolf, just over the bridge and across from the hospital.
anywho, please let me know who you go with, I'm looking at a respray this year, after t-belt and shift bushings, it's the only thing I need to do.
