    Wet Sanding..

Have some scratches on my hood and want to get rid or reduce the look of them. Figured wet sanding is the way to go. However, is there any rule of thumb to estimating how much clear coat is on my hood?

What year is ur car, if its early white car then chances are it a single stage paint but that's mainly only alpine white 1. Other wise, u should grab some 2000 plus grit sandpaper and do a little section to determine how much clear u have on it. Black and red cars clearcoat fades out pretty fast, so if its one of those colors I wouldn't even touch it
