Black bedliner engine bay on a otherwise (not black) car?

My engine bay paint isn't the best. I was almost thinking of doing just the engine bay in bedliner. What say ye?

Anyone have some pics of a non-black e30 with a black engine bay?

I think it could look good if the bay was partly or fully shaved.

there are companies that offer bed liner in colors other than black

but it's going to add weight and build up grease over time and you'll have to be more careful when you're working in your engine bay

even being careful I inadvertently rasp my knuckles every once in a while
as my dad used to say when I was wrenching with him in the garage as a kid, "can't fight with iron, son, it'll win every time" and I sure wouldn't want to test that theory with some rhino lining...ouch :|

Yep - that's widely known. I wasn't asking about that.

            Not really.

mmmm....Not really. It's the same texture as an undercoating.

Bedliner? Ummm - it's way more forgiving than paint.

Please stop posting. NO - I take that back - please post more - you're entertaining.

              LOL, add weight!

George, I think it could look good. A lot of muscle car guys do black engine bays.

It will look good. I painted mine light grey when I had the motor out.

I have done it on a few muscle cars and it looks great. Are you planning on doing this with or sans the engine and accessories in the bay?

How about colored bedliner. I think body color match is best.

IDK... Black under the hood usually looks bland. Thats why i was kind of shocked to see BMW had body color under theirs when i first looked at one.
