    Paintjob

After many months of working on my car and finishing the cosmetics i am going to get a paint job. Should i stick with my stock color (delphin metallic) or get another color ( im thinking of midnight blue). The only reason i want a color change is because i don't think paint shops can match a perfect delphin metallic color. My door jams and trunk will be painted but engine bay most likely not.

Old pic but pretty close to how it sits today.

remember color change you need the door jams, engine bay jams, and trunk jam, as well as gas filler area all sprayed, means more money, and some place might do a poor job,.

i say respray in all delphin, or a similar color.

my car is zinno, gonna get it resprayed in henna, no need to paint any jams

      +1

If I were to every get a color change I'd want to do it right and completely strip the car and put it on a rotisserie. Otherwise I'm always going to have it repainted the same color.
I want a nice set of smoked MHW's (I know, get it line)

Is it even worth the risk of the shop not getting the color right though?

The color being a shade off will look much better than a blue car with sliver jambs and engine bay. Delphin all the way

I like to think of old dingy oxidizing paint as having a unique patina... But if you must have shiny new paint, stick with same color.

Can anyone fill me in on the whole re-spray process? I'm a noob (see under my name) and have no idea where to begin... first off, it's a 84 Eta with 113000 miles, Polaris (silber) metallic over Cardinal red. Love the color combo, but I've got an itch for a fresh coat all the way around. So there's some kind of order to the madness, I'll organize my thoughts into questions...

                          1. Where do I get real BMW Polaris Paint? Primer? Clear Coat?

                          2. How much will that cost?

                          3. How much does your average paint place charge to respray? How long will it take?

                          4. What am I missing?

                          |__/-------------\__|

"Took me an hour to do this..."

took me like three seconds to copy/paste it- FOR SCIENCE!!
