    Mtech II install questions??

I have a late model plastic bumper car (92 vert) and I have looked at real oem as well as the installation guides and can't seem to determine what parts are still needed and what isn't?

I have the car torn down for paint and will sell the unnecessary parts but I'm unsure what exactly I need to keep for the installation of the OEM Mtech II front and rear.

    Can ya help me out??

Everything bolted to the car you keep. Only thing you may want from the plastic bumpers is the side markers.

The plastic bumpers are the only thing that comes off then right? The steel supports inside the plastic bumpers are used for the Mtech. I feel like a major noob asking these things, but I plan on selling my plastic bumpers and trim. I just don't want to sell anything that I will need.

      Thanks.

Just to clarify......looking at realoem i will not nee the insert that is shown with the standard US plasic bumpers, correct?? That is #8 on the plastic bumper diagram is not required with the Mtech front.

I'm not 100% sure, but my MT2 bumpers have the normal looking bumper supports behind the MT2 bumpers, just screwed in instead of riveted like on normal plastic bumpers.

If I'm not mistaken, #8 in the bottom pic is the bumper support (rebar) and is extremely important.

the only thing you are getting rid of is the bumper cover, which will be replaced by the mtechII bumper cover. You will need to drill holes in the valance as well to secure the clips for the mtech II valance (you also probably paint the lower middle section black) .

So remove the insert from my plastic bumper and put it in the mtech one?

Why don't they show the use of one on realoem?

I bought an MT2 valance and rear apron new. The boxes came with more parts than the realoem chart shows. It's a PITA without the instructions. I guess I''ll figure it out @ installation time. Bumpers are different. I still haven't installed them. As soon as I paint the car.

I just picked up a used rear apron today.

Have the skirts and pods being shipped to me from Michigan.

I still need the front bumper and valence. Looking at realoem it gets real confusing.

I got everything I need with the rear valence so that looks pretty easy.

And svn2002s......Where did you get your new stuff?

I dont know why actually, but yes... use the insert from your plastic bumper.
