Please note that the owner chose not to fix the dents and rust
    before:

    Note the oxidation

    After:
Let me just say I can BELIEVE how good this turned out I wasnt really sure it was going to be any good based on the condition of the vehicle and the amount of prep requested; I was also using PPG rather than transtar any way I was pleasantly surprised

    bastianshaw,
Sorry if I came across wrong. I just think that promising "better than stock" is going too far.

    einstein57,
I never said I wanted all that for $500. I simply said I'd want a better paint job. I'd be more than willing to pay for it, and I know I'd have to pay a lot more. (I'd think $1-2K would be fair if I did all the trim removal and a ton of prep and the car didn't need very much in the way of body work.)

For $500, I think that bastianshaw is offering people a very good deal and he's learning a bunch in the process. Sounds like a win-win to me, as long as people know what they are getting.

You expect all that for $500? Customers like that make me not want to sell e30 parts anymore. You guys would be amazed on how many people expected Bilsteins to come with my $335 coilovers.
Jesse and I were talking about that. If my flight attendant sister ever gets offer flight attendant ass and puts me down as her travel companion I can fly there for free. Jesse knows how to build a booth in a garage for like 200 so it's not that far off. Will keep you posted.

I'd want a correct paint job (which means a lot more than re-sanding... it means windows-out, trim-off, etc.) if I'm paying anything for it.

Different expectations for different people. Fair enough.

If it's sounds too good to be true...

Thanks I use transtar, it's a little on the expensive side, but. It's easy to spray and the color matching is outstanding, so for a beginner like me it's worth it.

The thing about that is it takes a long time for the clear to totally cure.

Great work man. Guys this is $500

He can only do so much at this cost.

If someone wants a perfect paint job they can pay for it. It most likely won't be $500 more like $3k +

    Keep up the good work
