Upper Painted Deflector Trim Issue, Early Coupe

Gents... Was walking away from my car last night and noticed the "ears" were asymmetrical from the rear view looking forward. The driver side trim above the side coupe window sticks out 1/4" more than the sleeker looking passenger side. Upon further inspection, I noticed a stud and washer on the trim and a hole in the car (in the crevice) where it should tightly mate. The passenger side was difficult to see as it is obviously fully mated. If I press firmly against the trim, the stud moves into the fitting but doesn't "snap". My gut tells me something is busted/clip is missing/et cetera.

Anyone have any experience messing with the painted trim piece above the coupe windows of early model e30's? I would like this piece to snap into place as it should. This is barely noticeable, but you know how it is... Plus, who's to say this couldn't lead to water inside the car, rust, and so on. Thanks in advance for the help. Pics below of what I am rambling about.

Update... Looks like the "clips" consist of three studs with lock washers that are received by plastic clips that fill in the holes; the studs on my trim have backed out of the clips as some of the clips are dry rotted and/or chipped. I need to remove this piece (carefully) and replace the clips and washers (fittings). Anyone know what the part numbers are to these clips/fittings?

Did you ever find these clips? How hard was it to remove?? Did you break them when you tried?

The clips r only one time use. U have to break them to get the trim off. Still available from the dealer
