    87-91 cabrio rear bumper.

I've been reading some different facts about cabrio's rear bumper. Just to get it straightened out. is the rear bumper off a diving board cabbie the same as a pre facelife car? (i'm mainly talking about the length between the rear of the car and the wheel well). somewhere i read that every cabrio has the LM stye lenght... which means, will plastic bumper plug and play on the rear? or will euro bumpers? or neither??

All cabrios have the late model arches, so plastics plug right on, they made early style euro bumpers for it though

very odd since i tried late style bumpers on my 87 325iC and it was a no go.
too long as on coupe and sedan.

          why ?

really? does anyone know for sure whether late model bumpers fit straight onto an early model cab. (eurostyle) ie. has anyone actually done it with success
            thanks in advance

Something's amiss then. My 87 cabby has plastics, and they fit fine. Low arches FTW.

                s

thats good to know, because i was considering the fiberglass m-tech II kits made for pre facelift cars (like at www.carmate.com) but if the genuine rear m-tech II bumper fits pretty much ok on the cab then ill go that. assuming i can find one.

this is all asuming that if the plastic bumpers fit easily on pre-face lift cabs then the m-tech II kit as well? i can't see why not.

                    I'll correct my previous statement,
plastic bumpers are a direct fit on cabrios as long as you have the proper bumper shocks...
