Shining the diving boards

Can I use a metal polish on my diving boards or are they coated with something like a clear laquer? My bumper has a few spots that look like they are fading and I'd like to shine them up

Bumping an old one, but has anyone had any experience with the above mentioned Classic Trim Coat for putting a shine back on the diving boards?

Agent, how did this work out for you? Any pics of it with your finished bumper surrounds?

I only did a quick wet sand and one coat on the bumpers while they were off the car, though even just that made a marked improvement. Lots of pics in my build thread; shoot me a PM if you want more.
