tail light tinting help

i have a late model 1990 325is and wanted to tint my tails all red. i heard about tint and also red transparent paint. which do you recommend and which is easier?

car is being painted so looking to get this done while paint finishes. thanks.

follow that tutorial but do not use the model clear coat. use automotive grade clear coat made for real cars not model cars.
