    Minor convertible top repair

Ok so my top is in great condition save one small hole on a high wear area (where the top folds on itself near a joint). Its so small water doesnt even get in when it rains hard. That being said its still a hole and I dont want to see it get bigger so I figured I would see if anyone had any experience with a good repair kit or any suggestions on what to patch it with.

    Thanks guys

ehh I dunno I feel like that might do more harm than good. the repair needs to be flexible and able to bend and move with the rest of the material since its on a part of the top that is constantly creasing when it goes up and down.

      I might just sew it.

Tape it from the inside with cloth tape, commonly called gaffer tape? Filmtools.com for an online source, or B&H on 9th Ave. in NYC. It is expensive but has tons of uses.
My soft top was starting to wear in I think the same spot. It didn't get as bad as that though. Now I make sure to fold that part in, away from the pinch point when the top is dropped.
For some reason the passenger side folds in at that spot on it's own, but the driver side, where it was wearing thin did not.

Thanks def interested in how you positioned the tape b.c of how close it is to the seam.

Here's what that wear spot looks like on mine, with gaffer tape applied to the inside. The white is the adhesive on the tape, which bled through the fabric a bit:

I tried a picture of the inside with the top closed. I kept getting a lot of glare, but here it is anyway:

It looks to me like it is the exact same spot as yours, judging by the somewhat oval shaped plastic piece.
I used three layers of gaffer tape. Can't remember the exact size, but big enough pieces to cover the hole with plenty to grab onto the surrounding fabric.

                Hope this helps!

Hmm, some kind of iron-on patch might be a great idea. If you partially fod the top, and have a helper, you may be able to gey a clothes iron in there.
