OEM E30 Euro Trim - Extra bump?!

Hey guys,

Just recieved a new Genuine BMW euro trim kit from Tischer and the front pieces turned out with an extra bump that I didn't think I've ever seen before on other cars, NA or Euro. Seems like a manufacturing (moulding?) feature of some sort.

Can anyone comment whether those are supposed to be there? This is the case on both LHS and RHS.

my stock trim has taht too. seems like thats where the injection moulding stems from
