help needed, refitting chrome trim around doors

my chrome trim has come off from the top edging. was a real pain. the clips let go down the high way. scared the hell outta me.

ive gotten a replacement for it. but seeming the original peeled off i cant figure out the best way to fit it. im not sure if i slide it on along the edging of the roof. or fit in over the top edge and push it and fold it under the bottom edge.

ive tried both ways and its damn hard and i dont want to bend it or scratch the car.

anyone done this before with some tips?

    thanks, leigh

I think when i did this on one of my old cars i put it in place and pressed it on as far as i could with my hands then folded up a towel and hammered it down. Others may have better advice though since im a vert guy.

Try searching shadowline diy threads. There will be some on how to remove and safely reinstall the trim. Strictlyeta.net may have this too.
