i had an earl scheib job on my first car (89 Camaro, hell yeah long live the mullet!) and it actually came out quite decent. i did a lot of prep work myself though, removed all trim, masked off all of the windows and wheels and everything. had it towed and dropped off and picked it up the next day and it looked tits from 10 ft.Comment

I had a Schieb spray done on my first car - 1978 Toyota Corolla. This was in 1987 when I had it done. I think I paid $95 total for it. I had done all of the prep except for the masking (which they did a fair job at, surprisingly).
From 10 feet it looked decent. From 20, it looked as good as factory paint.Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3Comment

can someone show me a guide to doing the prep work on the car, before sending it in to Maaco?
Do you guys primer the car too?
Or just have them spray over current paint?
Or strip off all your paint, primer, then send it to them?
I have some minor spots that I need to touch up with sanding and priming, but other than that, what do you guys recommend I do before sending mine to Maaco?Claus Luthe is my hero.
