Vert top lid vinyl beginning to bubble

Seemingly you can't buy a new vinyl panel. Used ones probably aren't much better than mine. Others have posted here about simply removing the vinyl and the glue underneath it. Has anyone done this and have pictures? Thanks.

Havent done it personally but on a hot sunny day just let it sit for a bit and start peeling slowly. May not be the best answer but it should work to remove it. Then use goo gone or something to remove the glue and glue it back w/ no bubbles. Seems like thats how it would go, right?

Or go to a reupholsterer and have them replace it with new vinyl.

Or, you could go to a fabric store and find matching vinyl. Use the old vinyl as a template. Get some 3M Super 77 and glue the new piece on. That is the game plan for mine.....

The lifting has just started next to the caps. So there are two areas that have lifted. My wish was that I could inject some kind of glue into the lifted areas, about one square inch each, and press down. The chrome strip appears to be part of the top seal so I guess it has to stay.
