plastidip for masking glass/wheels/etc before paint

    Hey there,

I was just simply wondering the title. If I were to respray my car, would it be possible to mask say a windshiled/windows/wheels/bumpers/etc by spraying plastidip, rippingg the access then laying down primer/paint? I am just looking for an alternative to masking with paper and having the painters tape get ncrappy after sanding the car down and having to do the same job twice.

It may work but I have heard that stuff isn't too easy to get off so you will probably end up spending more time dealing with the plastidip than you would if you just did it properly

Go to your local auto paint store, they sell a spray on masking, just make sure and lay ito ono heavily.

Nice, did not see spray on masking paint before.

Plastidip is ok, it peeled off my mirrors.. I sprayed my bottle caps on the car and the tires peeled right off probably from the momentum.

The solvents in the paint might re-activate the plasti-dip and create a big mess. I would just stick to doing it properly. When you start cutting corners is when you have problems.
