    vert trunk taillight

ok so i have a 325i convertible, and i have an ///M evo spoiler and i noticed that the taillight mounted on top of the trunk does absolutely nothing because the spoiler is in the way, but it causes an eyesore on the lines of the car. whats the best way to go about removing it? unscrew/ unplug everything and bondo the holes or what?

Easiest thing is to get a trunk lid from a non vert. It will fit. If you have a common color then it's a piece of cake to find one.

yeah true...i might just do that...of course i'd change out the spoiler so i'd have a vert trunk with holes in it still...

yeah you can totally see the difference in the cleaness of the lines when you have two side by side. my spoiler is lifted, if you look at my pics you'll see it. its completely blocks the brake light so i dont see any point in it anymore haha

Around $ 500, they would like more $ but just offer them that much, they'll take it.

ok cool...i like cf, just put some around my instrument cluster actually..so yeah idk tho, id kinda rather put that money towards a cf hood? just think its more noticeable on a hood than a trunk...i'll still look into it

Make sure when you replace the trunk lid with the coupe version to bridge across the resistor board for the third brake light. If you dont, you will get the annoying brake light indicator on the check panel lit up all of the time.

The board is in the third brake light attached to the wiring harness. I swapped a coupe lid with "is" spoiler on my 87. A buddy of mine helped with the wiring. The actual trunk wiring harness for the brake light that runs in the trunklid is now coiled up in the rear driver side quarter panel behind the antenna. No brakelight indicator and no 3rd brakelight....

I have a coupe trunk lid that a PO installed. When I got the car there was no brake light indicator lit up. Then about six months later it started. There is no visible trace of the original third brake light wiring. I'm thinking the wiring is coiled up somewhere and the light bulb burned out. Likely?
