Why I spent almost $25 on spray paint

I've been looking/calling around for Plastidip for a while. It wasn't a necessary thing until recently but I had never even seen it in person. Most stores didn't carry the spray version. If they did, it was NEVER in stock. Low and behold, I called THD this morning and said they had three. Turns out they had four- so I bought them all.

Anyone else realize how rare Plastidip is in stores? Sure you can buy it online. But it seems the whole internet phenomenon took off and shelves are empty everywhere. I'll be using it for the first time on a Volvo lip I found the other day. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

I never have trouble out here. Most stores that carry spray paint usually have them

        Shortage of plastidip? Never.

Honestly I hate the product on wheels/lip/body. I'd only use is as a cheap alternative to dynamat for my speakers.

home depot stocks a lot in our area. However, the spray version sucks out here in california. they deteriorate pretty fast when exposed to UV unless you put super thick layers. the actual dip is better

I can imagine. I think they sell sealed metal cans online too. That + a spray gun would probably yield the best results.

I work at Lowe's. Technically we "have it" but I check the shelf everyday before I leave and the bay is always empty.

It's been harder to source in stores on the east coast, if they do have it - they only have / order black. It's great for redoing bumper trim, that's about all I've found it good for.

I used plasti-dip from a spray can on a few emblems once. After about a 18 months it became brittle and peeled/cracked. Once that happened, it no longer came off easy.

just depends. sometimes stores are full sometimes they're empty.
and that stuff is only good for things that dont have a lot of body. volvo lip is perfect.
you can spray gloss on it as well and it looks really good; it hides the bump look plasti dip gives stuff.
