    Mtech 1 side skirts repair

I recently bought mtech 1 side skirts (the straight kind :D), but the PO used screws to mount it on the ends. My plan is to plastic weld the holes shut.

My question is, does anyone know what type of plastic they are made of? My understanding is you need to match the filler rod to the material of the piece you are welding.

My plan is to use the soldering iron method. This will be my first time welding plastic,so any tips/tricks would be appreciated as well.

    Thanks,
    Chris

I've seen plastic welding rod that is "universal" and works on several types of plastic. Might look into that.

I may be wrong, but I think the factory stuff was all ABS.

I had thought of that initially, but I think it would be more proper to fill it with plastic. Also, I would like to keep the flexibility that plastic has. All the epoxy I've ever used dries like cement, and would most likely crack if it the area around it was to bend.

I believe you are correct on both accounts. Hoping to get on this in the coming weeks. In the meantime I have been working on cleaning up some euro bumpers.

Pics to come... I suppose I should just start a build thread.
