    Best aerosol clear coat?

Hey guys I am looking to do a CHEAP respray of an old farm trucks hood. It's getting some surface rust on the exposed metal. I will be sanding priming sanding blah blah blah. But I do wanna throw a clear coat layer on and I used some cheap crap before and it was sticky after "curing" what have you had the best luck with as far as aerosol clear coats and where did you buy it?

Are you just respraying the hood? I would steer away from any clear in a can....I would go get a single stage clear, it'll still be cheap but come out much better, and not "sticky"

All off the shelf aerosol paint is junk.

Go to a local auto body supply shop. They usually can mix proper paint and put it in a spray can for you. The shelf life is not too long but it is real catalyzed paint. This is the best bet for paint out of a spray can.

Clearcoat from a spray can is generally shit. Rustoleum crystal clear enamel is alright but still sucks compared to automotive grade clear coat
