    Front bumper removal.

Gotta love working on 20+ year old cars right? Well anyways, I'm trying to remove my bumper, so I can make a removal core support. Well the problem is: ONE OF THE BIG 50torx bolts has the head broken off. What do I do now? I tried to drill it out, and bought the most expensive drill bits I could, and I snapped two of them. I have them about half way drilled out. Any help? Can I just cut the damn thing off? I'm thinking about doing so, and making a custom bumper that basically just holds on the plastic bumper. Yes I have the fabrication skills and tools. This is for a track/drift car by the way.

Have you tried an easy out? They usually come with reverse drill bits to pre-drill a hole with.

I need one hell of a drill to get that thing out. I'm not a small dude, and the drill almost ripped out of my grasp multiple times. I think I'm going to have to cut it off. Any help here?

is this on a plastic or metal bumper? I'd get some pg blaster, easy out and if its a metal bumper a small propane torch. If metal bumper pull the plastic off the front, have that bolt soaking pb blaster or something similar for a good day or so. And I mean soak it every few hours is possible. get the torch and try to situate it so the flame is heating up the outer female portion the bolt threads into. What you are trying the do is make this sleeve expand. after you warm that up really good go to town with an easy out.

If that doesn't work....cutoff wheel and a grinder!?

It's a late model. I ripped the plastic off, and thanks for the great idea! I never thought about a torch! I will be trying this tonight...
