Time for some updates...we've been busy this last week and this past weekend we focused on getting our cars ready for autocross this past Sunday. There's also a possible short term post ponement due to a slight mishap...read on.

    Here's the saw material.

We finally got the mold sanded and prepped properly and then got it primed and ready to lay the cf material down.

    Applying the resin

    Done applying the resin here

    Cody showing his excitment, LOL

And now for the bad news...

It was taking forever to dry and stayed tacky for a few days. We put it out in the sun and it made it worse. The resin we used wasn't exactly the best and on top of that, 90% humidity for days on end didn't help.

Once Cody popped it off the mold, we discovered a ton of air pockets underneath and the finished piece was flimsy.

We're going to make another but use the same resin we used on the fiberglass mold. That dried way quicker and was easier to lay down. Since we don't have enough to make another diffuser, we're going to do my sunroof panel with the remaining.

So, in the next few days, we'll be removing my sunroof panel, sanding it down smooth and prepping it for the fiberglass mold.

    I'll update as we go.

Ah ok, that may be a little longer. Once we get mine out, we'll figure out a way to make two molds of my existing panel

After my new IS lip comes in, we can work on making something like that. I know we're going to be making a splitter for the IS lip as well, but it will poke out a little farther then any on the market right now and we're going to try to have it stretch back much further.

You make #3 sir, price will be roughly 350-400 for it. It will still function as well. Soon as we use mine as a guinea pig, I'll post pics of it.

Lol, yea...his car makes me want a turbo AWD.

Well we weren't able to get it done by today for the meet tomorrow...there was too much going on at the shop this past week.

Hopefully within the next week, we'll have the diffuser and the sunroof panel done.

Not sure about making an entire air damn, its definitely something to think about but the splitter would be fairly simple since its flat. Just a matter of making one that goes back far enough and pokes out the perfect amount. Once we get the ball rolling on his diffuser and my sunroof, we're going to start planning our ideas for more and more parts, bigger parts!

More updates, CF material is scheduled for delivery TOMORROW! We have a pretty big car meet coming up on Sunday so we're aiming to have it done before then. The sunroof will be shortly after. Cody has been busting ass on this for a while now, I give the man props, he has a lot on his plate right now.

Working at the body shop during the day, then after hours doing side projects. Right now, other then his own diffuser, he's shaving a friend's tail gate and as of tonight, he's working on our friend's IS350, taking off his rear lip, plastic welding the holes, smoothing it out, painting it and installing his new diffuser, along with a Wald rep trunk spoiler and new front lip...all to be done before Sunday!

The man does work, lol. I'm doing what I can to help, but I'm still in the learning process when it comes to body work.

Pics of the mold, just have to smooth out a couple of corners and its ready to have the CF molded over it.

And our cars, lol. He decided to make use of his AWD and play around in the mud.

    Looks great.

Could original probably add a little overhang to the cassette you have and drill some holes in it then just screw it into the roof. Just a thought
