    Little surface rust spots

I was cleaning up some surface rust on my E30 and noticed in a few spots around the car tinni-tiny rust flecks on the surface of the paint. To go an touch up EVERY last one will drive me absolutely bonkers - any suggestions as to how to deal with them? I don't want them getting worse and really damaging things.

    Thanks!

Is the paint chipped down to the metal and then rusting, or is the paint still intact with the rust "on the surface of the paint" as you put it? Got any pictures?

If it is chipped, there isn't much you can do other then re-paint, either just the chip or the whole panel.

I can take some. There are some that I have touched up, because these were down to metal. Will post some pics soon. :)

I think the top layer of the paint has gone, but there is still primer under where its been chipped. Some spots have the little bit rust, as you can see. These are all like pinhead-sized type chips and they really show on the Alpenweiss if you look closely. Suggestions?

I was afraid you'd say that.

So how can I make a good job of it? What should I sand with, and how can I try to make it try to match, without doing the whole fender in the process?
