Safe to Use, When to use Porter Cable 7346?

I have the PC 7346 and as I know it would be best to use a Dual Action, is this is still ok for a good through detail? (Compound/ Polish)

If so, any good recipes to follow or any tips I should be aware of?

Yes, that will work fine. PC sells the same machine in many different configurations. That one is the same as the polisher, just with different accessories.
