Hard Top Stripping and Glass Removal?

I'm trying to remove glass so I can recover or paint my top. There's also those metal strips along the top that I can't get off either. Any removal process? recomendations?

Thanks. That's helped a lot however I still can't get these metal rails/strips off. Any clues?

the rails have 4 hex screws on each one. when i repainted my hard top i had the glass man remove and install the back glass its on with a very strong window glue/adhesive with a rubber molding all around. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=288719

I just ripped them out. Turns out there's two Phillips screws at the rear window that you can't get to without removing the glass.
