adding an aftermarket rear valance to a vert.

    Hi Guys,

I own an 88 325 vert. I am doing a plastic bumper conversion on it. I also have a rear valance (fiberglass aftermarket) that I would like to use also.

I know some guys were able to bolt the rear valance to the bumper. On mine it looks do-able on the center section near the lic plate, but on the ends, there is not really any flat area to bolt it up to the plastic bumper out there.

Just wondering how some of you guys did mounted the rear valance.

Also on the bumper swap, because the rear archs are diff on the vert, I end up with a gap, from where the arch is diff. What are you guys using here? Making a filler piece to fill it in?

    Thanks
    Jay

If you have the bumper mounted right in the rear, there should be no issues. The verts have the same late rear arch that the 88 and up e30s have. No modification needed as far as the bumper itself goes.

Hmmm, when mounting the plastic bumper on my vert, the piece behind the rear wheel (like where a mud flap would mount) is definatly not the same as a coupe or sedan (I also have a sedan parts car right next to it, and the vert curves way in compared to my sedan. Im taking about the part that a rear valance would partially cover up, under the plastic bumper, close to the rear wheels

I'll see if I can take a pic to show what i am seeing today.

The plastic bumper it self fits no problem. No need to shorten it. Its just the area under the plastic bumper behind the rear wheels that giving me issues.....because I have no way to mount the aftermarket rear valance I have.
