    cracked paint repair

Put on some 16x8 slipstreams and had to roll the left fender. Weird it was only the left rear, and the shop only did that one since they said it wasn't even needed on the right. But the paint cracked and they said it was not guaranteed to not happen. I won't mention the name, but they say they took 1.5 hrs. and seems like they spent 5 min. Anyway, I couldn't find any write ups on paint crack repair. Can anyone help out and can anyone share your experiences?

Paint is 20+ years old? It happens.
I'd say you're lucky that it happened under the fender lip. It usually happens on the edge where everyone can see.
Usually a heat gun is used to soften the pain so it's less prone to cracks, but you can't do much for dried 20yr old paint!

Thats always a risk, just because you are basically asking the set amount of pant to cover more area, hence stretching/rolling the fender. Best bet is touch up paint. No way to make the crack connect.

Thanks for the feedback. The shop i went to just suggested to razor away the loose paint and then touch up. My main intent is to prevent any further chipping or peeling and prevent rust.
