E30 Rivet-on Overfenders

^This,
Thats the point of going wider, with simple modifications and correct math you can fit anything, ( Iv seen 18 x 11.5 et-20 and 18 x 13.5 et-5 on an S2K....so anything is possible)
My purpose would be wider fenders for lower offset wheels + e46 control arms, and spacers = tons more angle and wider track...for a fraction of the cost from Wisefab or SLR
just my .02 -
if your 4-lug MAYBE, BUT 5-LUG your 12mm out, I tried a 9.5" et35 and had to run a 10mm spacer to not rub my coilovers, (do the math, even at 12mm out because of 5-lug I still had to run 10mm spacer to clear suspension). I couldn't turn lock to lock without hitting the fenders. Just look at what Unloaded had to do to get 275's to stay inside the fenders, he's reworking the inner fender well.
And to nitro I disagree, the opening on the stock fender is not big enough, read above^^ your kicking the wheel out which is making the radius from the axis point longer, your going to run into your fender. I have mounted the exact same apex wheels unloadedak has on my stock front setup....it won't work without serious modification to the fenders and inner fender well.
I tried finding the pictures I took but no luck.
So we're clear, not trying to crap on your thread, just saying I'm literally dealing with the same issue.Leave a comment:

Those items are Pesch, and he's not making a m3 look alike just using the fenders to gather a wider stance. I think it is about as good as you can possible do for holding stock body lines, there's no way you can call that ratical gruppe5 look stock. Not to mention that the Pesch in that link was under a $1000 shipped.....from over seas.
you can't get a 275 to fit inside a stock front fender and have full turning ability no matter how wide you make it, just won't happen.....ask me how I know. So ask yourself whats the purpose of a wider fender? It can be done but not without serious modification and not many people are will to go through that kind of work (like you, me or unloadedak).
Ill have to read the thread about the quality of it...I looks good to me. just looks M3ish to me, not a bad thing just my take on them.
I would also like to differ on not fitting 275 up front with wider fenders, Im sure with the correct offset you can run 10.5 up front, unless when turning the tires hit the suspension or something, then its a matter of spacers..... I have 8.5 up front with a 5mm spacer and I'm still inside the fender with stock camber (I have stretched tires but my lip is still inside the fender)...get e46 control arms and 5mm spacers to push the track out further (Under $70)....should be ok then..and add quite a bit more angle..Leave a comment:

Wider fenders means you can space the wheel out further giving you more clearance on the inside. So saying you can't fit a 275 in there is false. Yeah, you can't fit a 275 with the stock offset, but with a lower or even negative offset and a wide fender, it is very possible. That is the point of going wider.Leave a comment:

The link is a picture of the m3 kit if I'm not mistaken....(?) I like the m3 kit but I don't want to make replicas of the m3, or else why not just buy the DTM kit... ya know?
I want to try to keep the oem lines of the 3 series, just make the fenders wider.... if that makes any sense at all....Leave a comment:

DTM managed to pull it off with their 'super mega' widebody kit, but I'm not willing to pay 4-5k for a body kit... that's just not happening.
Also, was that link for what your finished product would be like or something?Leave a comment:

I know what you mean, hoping to make it a 2 piece rear panel... so the door actually still functions.
....this should be quite the challenge

I've got a sedan too - most kits i've seen are like "fuck it" and slap the fender over our rear doors
I'd be down for an extra 2.5" or so of tire fitment.Leave a comment:

I would produce them in +30mm, +50mm, and +70mm. Although any width can be had, but these seem to be most common.
If I was in the market for wide body fenders other than e30 M3 style. I would pay around that price ($500+shipping) if not more...depending on quality of the product and fitment of course...and you are getting FOUR fenders not just two like most places...
Just skimming the internet I see some fenders going any where from 300-500 for just a PAIR Depending on Width of fender/company/brand etc... (for 240sx s13-s14) , and that doesn't include shipping. (some websites may include free shipping)
I would like to keep the price within the affordable e30 community, without trying to compete with the DTM E30 M3 Kits....Now that being said, I would also like to make a sedan version for those with sedans....like myself...Leave a comment:

$4-500 + what, 150-200 in shipping? I'm down... depending on how wide we're talking here. I'm still considering doing this to my car:
Someone started a thread about them doing this to their e30 somewhere on these forums.... but he wasn't doing the best job and I think he ended up selling the car or something.Last edited by jalopi; 12-30-2013, 11:29 PM.Leave a comment:

Nice I never knew that they GLUED the subframe to the firewall...Learn soothing new everyday..
Ya the buyer would choose application for bonding...me personally I would rivet the heck out of it, I like the style.Leave a comment:

yeah, epoxied in place. They use glues to bond subframes to firewalls, so it's more than strong enough for body panels.Leave a comment:

This is EXACTLY what I am talking about...Except they are in Lithuania....I have been searching forever to find kit like this...The main reason I started this thread is because I honestly thought no one has attempted it!There's a similar style fender out that your referring to. It looks great and provides plenty of clearance, problem is getting them here in the U.S.

Nice!
Well 1k shipped is WAY out of everyones ball park....especially because you can get the m3 fenders to BOLT on for that price....
What would be a reasonable price if I were to produce them? $4-500 +shipping?
I guess I would have to see how much material pricing would be then succumb to a price...
What Would the community pay for a set of wide body fenders?Leave a comment:
