    Bumper help.

I was trying to remove my rear metal bumper and I pulled all the plastic and the 4 nuts holding the bumper shocks to the body. The bumper moves up and down but won't come off the car. I hooked a tow strap to my wife's expeditions bumper and try and pull it off. No workie!!! Just a burn out ?

    Please help !
    what am I missing!?

There are two 13mm bolts, one for each bumper shock, that are screwed sideways into a bracket in the rear of the shock. You need to remove these. Just look up under the rear of the car, they're on the left side of each shock; the left shock's bolt is under the muffler heat shield, and the right shock's bolt is between the bumper shock housing and the spare tire tub. Item 15 in this diagram:

Alternatively, you can leave the bumper shocks attached to the body and simply remove the four 13 mm nuts attaching the shock to the bumper.
