    Mtechnic Sideskirt Fitment Question

Can someone please confirm that the mtechnic 1 sideskirts mount below the top 1" of the rocker panel? Essentially covering only the part of the rocker that has the textured paint on it?

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

its true...factory mtech one had no textured paint, and had things for the skirt to clip on to. have not come up with an ideal retro fit option, as if you just bolt the skirt to the ends, it tends to sag a little, meaning you can see the textured paint. fine on a black car, but on other colours it can look strange. don't really have any decent pics handy, but you get what im getting at?

Solution is to drill holes into the rocker, seal with paint, and press in the female recepticles for the "pins" used to hold on the sideskirt. You can find the PN's for these 2 parts on www.realoem.com

As per factory design, I just wanted to make sure i was lining things up correctly and not imagining things.

      Thanks for the reply.

          Perfect. Thank you both.

Mike, did you use the body inserts along the rocker to attach them, or did you use another method?

I used the factory clip things. but I didnt have a seal that goes between them and the body.- just the origional one that was really worn out on the skirts. the M tech II is really nice in the fact of it has a "puffy" seal, but not the I.
I also just drilled into the side of the wheelwells, not sure if they were supposed to have special clips like the II kit, but it works great, and is holding on really sturdy

I can take some pictures of the mounting points on mine tomorrow if that would help.

I dont necessarily need that. I've got all the mounting hardware en route from BMW GmBH. I just wanted to make sure I was lining them up correctly.

Thank you for the offer though!

                  Not a worry.

BTW, I think they look awesome. Show us some pics when they are on your car.
