Replacement body Panel for Rust Repair

Hi everyone I am looking into purchasing a 325ix and the one I am looking at has a big rust spot I am hoping to take care of ASAP if I purchase it. It is on the underside of the rear trunk area. The area is about the size of my hand and has not infected the battery track area just yet. Is there a body panel part to replace this section? If not anyone have any first hand experience with this repair?

Parts are definitely available new. Look up what you need on realoem.com and then just order using the part number. BluntTech should be able to get it for you.

Another option would be to find a junk yard car and cut a piece out to replace the bad spot on your car. This would end up the cheapest route.

my car had rust in the same area but worse, it extended all the way from the battery pan to the wheel well.

my friend just cut it all out, welded in new metal. they used underbody spray to match the rust. then we painted it with rustoleum trim and bumper paint. you cant even tell the difference now.

Perfect. Thanks for the help guys. I bought it and plan on doing the body work. Original owner really took pride in the car.

I don't think I've ever seen an E30 not rusted there. Mine's very nearly completely rust free, but it's rotten there, and a couple of spots in the engine bay.

lol look through my build thread I have that rust times ten. I'm replacing it with new wheel housing and quarter panel and then I'm taking a sheet of 18 gauge metal and patching it up from there.
