Help installing rear European bumper (pic)

I'm having problems centering the rear center bumper. I have a feeling it might be due to the hole I drilled. How does it look?

    Anyone?

I have a feeling I have the brackets on backwards. Right now the big bolt is on the bottom and the small is on top, I think it should be visa versa. If it is switched the new bolt hole would be far more to the left. Can anyone confirm this?

why did you drill a hole? Thought it was a direct fit. check out Ryan's old site www.archercc.net his instructions might still be there.

His site is down; I gave him a PM though.

The brackets are different on the euro bumpers and require you to drill a hole on each side:

You definitely do need to drill a hole on each side...

I forget which way I mounted mine - if the L shaped backets were pointing "in" or "out". When you're mounting the bumper only try to mount the center piece to begin.you're going to use the body seam at the bottom of each head light as a reference point to get the brackets aligned. Once you have the centre piece aligned, unbolt it and put together the remaining pieces.

You can see which way I have the L brackets pointing in the picture above. I have a feeling it’s the opposite. Can you confirm this is you still have the car you did it on?

I know what you mean about the reference seams on each end. On the right side the bumper crosses the seam and on the left side it doesn’t even come close to the seam.

This is why I think the brackets are backwards, If i turn them the other way then it seems the bumper would be more to the left, making it center.

I'll take a look tomorrow morning - I have an m tech 1 skirt that makes it hard to see at night.

I had used brackets and basically bolted just the centre piece to the car. My alignment was off 1/2 an inch. I pushed one end until it centred - it really took very little force to do this. Once its centred just make sure that one side isn't pushed in more than the other.

Ya the hole for your passenger side mount is drilled above the wrong lower hole, it needs to be above the inner lower hole for that mount. The Driver's side is just fine.

I haven’t changed or moved the brackets, I don’t see any other way they could be mounted unless I turn them upside down. what on earth am I doing wrong?

                            I'd bend the mounts.

Well, you COULD bend the mounts, however on mine you will notice on the top section of the bracket there is a flat spot, that should be in line with the lip on the rear metal work... its kinda hard to explain.
