Facelift Question - Late model vert kit on early model coupe

I tried searching for this but no luck. Maybe my search words are no good...

Today, I attempted to face lift my 87 325e with a kit from a 92 vert. The vert valence seems to be short about an inch on both length and depth when staged on the 87.

I did read somewhere that a vert carpet is also shorter than the coupe. Is the vert really a tad shorter all around? Or is it just my car? I was able to fit a valance from another early model on my car today. So I know there is nothing crazy going on with my chassis.

I guess I just want confirmation of whether this is supposed to work or not?

    Thanks!

Which valence? front or rear? Guessing front? either way there should be a bumper write up on the front page. the vert had to have reinforcements for lack of a roof. which made some various measuremnts different. only real diffrences that arn't obvious. That are not interchangeable with "coupe e30s" are doors, fenders, side skirts That i can recall at this moment.
