Anyone ever dyed a soft top?

I have a delphin vert with a tan soft top and really don't like the color of the top. Anyone have experience with fabric dye on the soft top? Would it be a good idea to dye it black? I'd much rather pull it off and dye the outside (it's black inside) then buy a new one.

This is what it looks like and I don't think it matches well at all.
    Thanks
    Tim

I want a tan top for my convertible. Where did you source that top from?

I had a zinnorot parts car and it had that top. My delphin top was ripped and had a bent frame. I'd trade for a black one In similar condition if it was local

+1 on info. I picked up a near perfect dark brown top, but I have a cirrus blue cabrio. Might clash.

Without any experience I would still have to imagine most dyes are not going to bond to a soft top. Whatever is used for weatherproofing will most likely repel any dye you attempt to use.

I had a blue top on my alpine vert with black interior so I tried the blackfabric dye on it and it came out great! it actually took in the color quite well. But I did start with a blue top not a tan one.
