Poll: 3rd brake light, or no?

I am getting a new rear parcel shelf (in ultrasuede to match the headliner), and I need to decide if I should keep the third brake light, or remove it.

Please help me decide, I'm leaning towards removing it at the moment...

    25
    Keep the brakelight
    64.00%
    16
    Lose the brakelight
    36.00%

    The poll is expired.

I've always thought it would be cool to blackout all of the 3rd brake light but the letters "BMW", so when you hit the brakes, it would light up BMW. You could do something like that.

i just saw that on a pontiac grand am tonight, and i didn't like it. maybe would have been better if the "grand am GT" badging wasn't still on the car, but it looked cheap as it was

My theory is that I want everyone behind me to know that I am braking, 'cool' looks be damned. I added extra brake lights to mine.

Maybe some Dodge Ram taillights would look good too.... ;)

Keep it. Maybe have it say "E30" when you hit the brakes.

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.

loose it, all the euro cars have no 3rd brake light, and there seems to be the same amount of accidents. 3rd brake lights are like having a 3rd ball.

Haha best argument of all of these so far...

Anyone have a closeup, out of car picture of the euro shelf for reference?

would you still be able to pass inspection w/out a 3rd brake light? or since its not there they won't care?
