    Crud under the spoiler..

OK, first thing is I know that this thread is practically useless as I forgot to take any pictures, but just wanted to share my experience today cleaning 23+ years of crap out from under an original IS spoiler. This stuff was darn near impossible to shake, specifically a very very hard edge all around where the spoiler was, and the only way to remove the dirt line was a ton of elbow grease and some slow slow work with a clay bar.

So, now I'm done, anybody have an easier way in case I ever need to do this again?

Soak it first with Purple Power. It will begin to break down the grease and petroleum aspects of the crud. Its slightly acidic so keep it away from painted parts if possible as it may haze , craze ,or etch them.

I tried a slightly diluted degreaser, it wasn't purple power, but it only removed the looser stuff. I wouldn't want to use anything that could etch the paint on the trunk lid.

Clay bar works, but it is painfully slow..

What you can do is I'm sure it's not that noticeable, put rubber spacers in between the bolts and spoiler so you can scrub and wash in between and you take off all the crud. So when you take a high pressure washer to it all the new stuff will come off
