    Paint my E30!!! :D

So, my car is 4 colors lol and sooooo it needs a repaint. It won't necessarily be repainted one of the four colors on it at the moment... but I do have a few colors in mind. So I figured... ASK R3V!!! :D

My car will be keeping the diving boards, and I will tuck them, but depending on the color I may or may not paint them, so I might decide that I'd rather just leave them the original bare aluminum (don't get the idea that I'm in any way attached to my car's originality lol). Also really wanna go the Pfeba route as far as body kit.

So here are the colors I have in mind:

    -Zinnoberrot (original color)
    -Alpina green metallic
    -Laguna Green metallic
    -Lachssilber metallic
    -Granitsilber metallic

Add a color if you would like. I'm leaning towards... well I guess the best way to say it is subtle badass. Not loud, but aggressive. Though in the case of Zinnoberrot, exceptions may be made to that rule lol. So tell me what you all think.

P.S. I really kinda like the greens, so if you have another badass green to add, feel free lol

If you aren't going to strip the car (I.E. - pull the engine, interior, etc), go with the stock color. Mismatched paint jobs suck.

If the color changes, the engine gets pulled, door jams and trunk get done as well. If the color changes, all surfaces get changed. I haven't been brought up to let my car get painted like a Honda or a Chevrolet. It'll be done right, cause I agree. Mismatched/halfway done paint jobs are terrible.

I get the Honda part, but considering most of the show cars in this country are vintage muscle cars (a good portion of them being Chevys) I'm not even sure what that means.

Many classic GM vehicles were not painted body color in the engine bay from the factory (I think they were also exempt from trunk paint as well). They were usually shot in black, with little more than a high durability primer, in such areas. This is opposite of such companies like the Mopar family, which did a full paint job from the factory: bay, trunk, and all. Therefore, hilariously enough, GM technically churned out mismatched paint-jobs from the factory to reduce cost and increase production, which is the same reason, generally, that the stereotypical Honda owner doesn't jam out or paint the bay in their car.

If you like greens, check out Fairway Green metallic for 1997 Chevrolets. It's a one year only color. It pops when the sun hits it!!

Yeah GM's had black engine bays, but also remember they where also mostly removable dog houses unlike Mopar with their uniboby construction (just like an e30). GM's also got a trunk paint too, it was like a splatter/fleck paint you could call it. Most where gray with a white and black fleck. The trunk lid was also body color under it too. Honestly I like Mopars better for the engine bay and trunk compartment being body color.

Will do! And thanks for the added info on GM's paint/construction style, I didn't know a lot of that. I love Mopar btw, I've been brought up with them, my father owning 3 classic Mopars, as well as being brought up where all of our family's daily drivers being Mopars (or well, "Mopars" lol) all the way up to the SRT8 Charger we have now. Really, Mopar is what got me into cars in the first place. (Kinda tangent to what you were referring to, I know lol)

There is a really rare bmw color called malachitegrün i believe. Whatever color "grumpy e30" had is the most beautiful color known to man.
