    DIY Rear-end Repair?

I was recently rear-ended, and was looking to repair the damage myself. My tail light was Adlai taken out, but I got around to replacing it right after.

Does this look like something I could fix at home? I'm assuming I'd have to pop the dent out and repaint a portion of it.

What would I need, and how would I go about doing this?

I can't seem to resize the photos from my phone! I will do it as soon as I can sit down at a computer!

I would say this is a $500 dollar repair and would just pay to have it done. You will put a lot of time and effort into repairing it and would need to buy a stud gun, slide hammer, primer, body filler, sanding block, and paint. Those alone could cost you the price of the repair, not to mention matching paint to a 25+ year old car is not an easy thing to do...

^^this. I had a similar dent and that area is hard to reach with tools you have lying around. And not knowing what I was doing, while I was able to make it better, it still looked a mess. Did you not get the guy's info? It should be his dime.

I wasn't able to get his info, as he must've driven off.

Insurance gave me enough money to pay for the taillight, but nothing more.

That's... Weird. Usually you pay a deductible and they cover everything over that. Anyway, you can try to hammer it out, you will probably get it to look better, but not great. I'd advise using ear protection, it gets loud. And go lightly, it's easy to put dimples in by going too hard. But eventually you'll want it taken care of by a shop. Good luck!
