Fender Modification Idea

Rather than rolling ...and rolling some more the inside of the fenders, what if I just cut that lip off and welded in a 1/16" sheet metal to double-up the thickness of the wheel arch? Do you think it would deform or become wavy?

*note* I'll be repainting my car as it is, so that's not a concern.

the fronts you can roll flat so youd basically have the same thickness as that with far less work, the rears are a semi-structural part of the car so you COULD do that but your just asking for issues later on with water getting between the pieces and rusting from the inside

Imo you could potentially ruin the lines of the e30, so gently rolling and pulling as not to take away the line is all I would suggest unless you don't care about it then chop away.
