Taking care of Minor rust.. Repaint?

    Hey guys

So Ive currently got a 1984 318i in Hennarot. It is a single stage paint so I managed to restore it moderately well through compound and polish.. Will attach an image of before/after. Now, the car has minor surface rust on the bottom of the driver side fender, a tiny bit on the grille and small bit by the license plate. Its all just minor surface rust, no rot.

Now my question for you guys is.. Can I get away with just sanding down, priming and painting the areas with the surface rust ? Or will the paint be clearly different ? Making fully repainting the car my best choice ?

If it was two stage Id understand, but being a one stage that I can easily restore, will there be much a difference? Im also planning on putting on an Mtech 1 body kit, will that stand out? Id really like to keep the original body paint on the car..

Ive got a buddy who has connections with a Medium-high end body shop that can give me a respray for $1500. Ive gotta take care of the body work though..

Anyways let me know guys ! Thanks

I'd go with the medium-High end respray for $1,500. That's a steal if you are semi-adept or really patient and willing to learn some body work.

I had about 1,000 hours of body work into a shell I ended up scrapping and by the end of it I'm a little more comfortable doing body work. It's a good skill to hone as a lot of people are not willing to put the time into it.

    Good luck!

Im thinking instead of going with the body kit and repaint I put some more money into Engine work.. If I was to do a ES front air Dam or Plastic bumpers, could i get away with painting em henna?
