So I installed a late valance from a 88 on my 87 and now the bumper cover molding have gaps on top. I installed a 89 valance before and it also have the ugly gaps on top, so I installed my old early valance back on. My guess is that either the bumper is different or the bumper cover molding is different. I have been searching and nothing came up.

DB's from 84-87 are all the same. The surrounds changed around 86, so those as well as the 88's are all the same but the actual alum bumper is different the way it mounts, as well as the bumper itself. If that is the case, I wonder why there is a gap between the bumper cover and bumper. I know for a fact the 88 metal bumper use the same shocks as the plastic bumper, but it shouldn't be the problem.
