How hard is it to put the 87 is valance on a 89 car w/ plastic bumper?

My car is 1989 and I'm slightly considering putting a 1987 valance on my car. I want to keep the plastic bumper. How hard is this conversion? Is it a simple bolt-on, or are there some other modifications to make?

asubimmer did it, he did a writeup in the DIY section. i personally think it looks pretty dumb but whatever

Thanks for the info and link. I'll probably stick with the metal valance, if I can find the one in good condition.

                    Function>all

I like the way it looks but I did it to make it easier to fit the FMIC. Also it has only been done 1 other time that I know of, and I don't like haveing the exact same car as everyone else.

I would never rock an 87 valance.

So does it just mount up like he said or is there more to do?

the 87is airdam is the best looking airdam available for the e30... however the plastic bumpers are too short for it imho and make the front end look stubby... the 87is front would look and does look good with more of an e30m3 style front bumper... again imho

plus you can not beat the functionallity of the 87 dam when fitting an intercooler on an e30... not to mention you get decent sized intakes for brake cooling and still have nice fog lights

                              Thanks for the input.
