How to rust repair Touring tail gate?

    Hello,

I've got an -89 touring with a rust problem. The area around the bottom corners of the trunk are rusted and the rear glass has been pushed out and is not attached around the corners. There's also some rust around the edges further down and where the license plate attaches, but those areas I'm fairly confident won't prove much of a challenge.

I'm mostly afraid the glass will pop out and shatter in some big bump.

Is there a DIY on how to remove the rear glass and rust repair the window frame?

And when you're done, is it possible to get some proper sealant and reattach the window without it costing to much $$$?

Well, I got brave and dissembled the trunk down to the barebones and glass. I managed to scrape off a lot of rust and then get a hacksaw blade in-between the glass and frame and was able to relieve the pressure on the glass from the rising rust.

Removing the glass and doing it properly seems like a lot of work and money. So honestly, I'm thiking I'll put lots of rust-stop in the areas i can't easily get to and be on the lookout for another trunk lid. =/
